Stitcher — features ‘oblique monitors’ to ensure only ‘good’ books are stitched and ‘missed stitch’ detectors rejecting bad books before they enter the trimmer. A unique dual calipering system can monitor 4-page signatures down to .008” thickness. The touch screen monitors, the location of any safety trips, moves stitch heads and clinchers, trimmer knife positions and book thickness, along with a downstream inhibit and sequential start and stop function. All Osako’s utilize a “Fly Stitch Head” design for accurate, mark free production, and minimal maintenance.

Rotary Feeders — each ORF-826B rotary feeder on the Tener Alpha has its’ own Becker pump to maximize control from the smallest reply card or envelope to the largest signature. Designed to tilt back or forward, any feeder can instantly become a hand feed station or adjust to center drop cards, envelopes and oblongs for maximum production speeds. Equipped with Pneumatic timing, no tools are required to set up feeders, and if a prior job is stored, feeder timing to rail can be set automatically by computer in seconds. Osako manufactures fixed, moveable, flat pile, vertical and double diameter feeder styles depending on your specific need. Image signature and bar code recognition systems are easily added. The rotary feeders can now be upgraded with Servo Motor Setup for faster changeovers.

Cover Feeders — all Osako cover feeders, including the ORC-310A cover feeder that the Tener Alpha is equipped with, come with die quality standard and reverse scoring which means 100% of all covers can be scored in-line. Unique to Osako Stitchers is the ability to register the cover, and then have the cover gently broken to score. The advantage over any competitive feeder is its’ ability to minimize cracking on sensitive stocks or difficult ink coverages. Additionally, “refold” or “TV guide” type signature work can be produced at high production speeds. Maximum operator control is provided with micro screw and lateral table adjustments.

Trimmer — can be equipped with either a face first or face last trimmer. For face first, the Tener Alpha can be equipped with either: the semi-automatic OT-2000 or the fully automatic OT-2000A.  For face last, the Tener Alpha can be equipped with: the OT-323B, the OT-327, or the innovative OT-329 “Duo” two-stage trimmer with built-in 4th and 5th knife station. All Osako trimmers move the book from the first cut position to the second by gear and chain, which is far superior to competitive pneumatic or cable drive systems which restricts proper registration at high speed. For 2-up book production, the upper assembly is easily installed with the notched slide that requires no side-to-side adjustment. Only the lower assembly need be aligned to the top assembly. Also, the entire top and bottom 4th and 5th knife is micro adjustable side-to-side.
